Mrs Amaechi Donates Buses To NCWS

As Nigerian Women in Rivers State join their counterparts across the world to mark the 2009 International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the wife of the Rivers State Governor, Mrs Judith Amaechi has donated two Toyota Hiace Buses to the Rivers State chapter of the National Council of Women’s Societies (NCWS). Mrs Amaechi during the presentation of the buses said her resolve and determination to transform the women is unshakable adding that their prayers have added tonic to the success of the president administration. Mrs Amaechi’s donation is in response to the request by the women for buses to ease transportation difficulty experienced during their activities. The Rivers Governor’s wife said women across the world have shown that they possess adequate capability to cause change in the society adding that they are a veritable tool for mass mobilization. According to her “it has been proven that women are agents of change and this has been demonstrated in all the responsibility entrusted in women who have distinguished themselves especially in public service”. She pledged her determination to provide enabling environment for women emancipation and gender equity. Receiving the buses, President of the National Council of Women’s Societies (NCWS) in Rivers State, Dr Mrs Patience LongJohn thanked Mrs Amaechi for her gesture, adding that the buses will facilitate more women participation in the NCWS activities in the state.
