Commissioner Charges Hotel Management On Better Performance
Rivers State Government has urged the Hotel Presidential Management to re-double their effort to transform the Hotel to a five star status.
The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Prince Ogbonna Nwuke, gave the advice on Monday, during an Inspection visit to the Presidential Hotel in Port Harcourt.
The Commissioner who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Ijioma Samuel, were conducted round the Hotel by the General Manager, Presidential Hotel, Mr. Per Stafsen.
Addressing the management of the Hotel, Prince Ogbonna said, he and officials of his ministry undertook the inspection visit to see areas requiring government attention.
Prince Ogbonna further hinted that the Rivers state Government is conscious of the challenges facing the Hotel, pointing out that management of the Hotel should come up with their work plans.
Also speaking, while conducting the tour of the Hotel facilities, the General Manager, Mr. Per Stafen explained some of the problems facing the Hotel and pleaded for government support to up grade the hotel to an International standard.
Mr. Stafsen on behalf of the management thanked the commissioner and expressed their readiness to work with government to meet up with the set goals.
Areas visited are the Rivers Restaurant, Chinese Restaurant, the kitchen, the generator house, the cline, water treatment plant, the different rooms, the swimming pool among others.
