Rivers LG Councils Allocated Over N2bn For August …As COS Meets LG Chairmen Today

The 23 local government councils in Rivers State have so far received a total of N2,140,262,481,55 billion as allocation for the month of August 2009. This figure however represents about 45 per cent shortfall of N1,813,195,152.00 in the July 2009 allocation to local government councils in the state. This was contained in a statement made available to The Tide by the Ministry of Local Government , Chieftaincy and Community Affairs. The statement which was signed by the commissioner, Dr T.N.Danagogo gave a breakdown of the figures as follows, Abua/Odual N91,930,402.90, Ahoada East N72,799,508.13, Ahoada West N87,490,728,.90 and Akuku Toru N77, 790,545.29 It also said that, Andoni got N83,427,926.59, Asari Toru N79,189,920.86, Bonny N81,612,367.60, Degema N87,687,011.8, while Eleme received N81,607,385.06 The rest are Emohua, N78,407,047.79, Etche N88,808,224.20, Gokana N83,380,147.87. Ikwerre N77,743,935.60, Khana N96,398,656.21, Obio/Akpor N115,481,765.79, while the allocation fo Ogba/Egbema/ Ndoni was N94,840,565.79. Also are Ogu/Bolo N61,346,660.99, Okrika N83,095,098.07, Omuma N65,763,209.57, Opobo/Nkoro N73,291.073.56 Oyigbo N66,732,115.30, Port Harcourt N127,220,406.57 while Tai Local government got N80,828,557.67. The statement further said that the Rivers State Government pensions board received N92,956,171,22, Rivers State Local Government Service Commission N11,388,520.05 while N107,044,928.00 went to the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers.
