Rivers Legislator Commission Constituency Projects In Rumuolumeni
A member representing Obio/Akpor constituency II in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Anthony Okeah has commissioned an Ultramodern Civic Centre for Rumuolumeni Community as part of his constituency project norminated for the people in the 2009.
The Ultra Modern Civic Centre which has a two storey building furnished with modern electronics and air conditioners contained 1000 sitting halls capacity offices, ICT centre and a 500KVA generating machine.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Chief of staff, Rivers State government House, chief Nyesom Wike opined that Hon. Okeah has represented Obio/Akpor constituency II in the state Assembly very well. Chief Wike, noted that the commissioning of the project underscores the commitment and desired effort of the present administration in the state led by Rt. Hon Chibuike Amaechi to provide the dividends of democracy across all the various communities in the state.
He urged the people of Rumuolumeni community to make judicious use of the edifice that is equipped with modern electronic gadget adding that the project is an asset that is capable of driving the community into the global community.
The state government House chief of staff thanked the people for maintaining peace in their dormain and urged the people to support the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2011 election so that more democratic dividends could be attracted to the area.
“We are happy with the level of representation in the state legislature demonstrated by your representative. Come 2011 election when we come for you to support Hon Anthony Okeah’s candidature for the State Assembly, you people should also give him your support,” he stated.
Also speaking, the Speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Tonye Harry who was the Special Guest at the occasion lauded the lawmaker for ensuring that constituency projects he nominated in the state 2009 budget were completed on time.
Rt. Hon Harry explained that the lawmakers do not execute projects rather, they nominate projects for state government for implementations.
In his speech, the lawmaker representing Obio/Akpor Constituency II in the state legislature, Hon Anthony Okeah, said he nominated the civic centre project to the state government after a due consultation with his constituent.
Hon Okeah stated that the civic centre project which have an ICT centre would be used by the three communities within his constituency assuring that he would not renage in his electioneering promises to his people.
