A staff nurse with a popular private clinic in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital has been apprehended by the police for attempting to sell a set of twins to a desperate housewife.

According to the story, the housewife (name withheld) desperate to keep her marriage  had approached the nurse for assistance for a fee.

The nurse was said to have agreed to the deal on the condition that the housewife pays her the sum of N300,000.00 which she did.

On the agreed date, the nurse handed her “customer” a set of twins delivered by her victims that night, but the deal was exposed to the mother of the children by another nurse.

The woman who was earlier told that she had a still-birth later alerted her husband who reported the matter to the police.

Unknown to the lady, soon after receiving the twins, and was happy about to go home, she was accosted by detectives from the state police headquarters.

The culprits were later taken to the state Criminal Investigations Department for interrogation and further investigations.

The Police Public Relations Officer, M.M Thadeaus confirmed the incident when contacted.
