Irene Wali Storms Market With New Gospel Album

It is obvious that the gospel music genre has been gaining grounds over the years in the Nigerian music clan. The exploits of the gospel singers in the society today, cannot be over emphasised especially with their block buster albums that are released into the market almost on daily basis.

Among the wave making gospel musicians in Rivers State is lady Irene Wali who recently released her third album titled “Oburuoma Chiokike Zi Agada” which literally means “the goodness of God is Great”. She stressed that the new album which contains 14 tracks is to help spread the word of God as well as win souls for Christ.

According to the seasoned Gospel musician who started music in 1986 through God’s inspiration, the new album is a commercial success as it is in high demand. She disclosed that her 16 member group known as Women Christian Assoication voices of Choba, in Obio/Akpor local Government (OBALGA) Rivers State is a team of  dedicated Christians who through music, praise and worship God in English, Ikwerre, Kalagbari and Igbo Languages.

Lady Wali maintained that the use of different languages is to reach a wider audience, praise workship with them through music and  win souls for Christ. She then appealed to the state government for support through cash and kind to enable the band continue to grow from strength to strength.

The Gospel group usually invited to perform in various social and religious events including weddings, Thanksgiving services and crusades. The latest album is the third album while they also have six cassettes to their credit all to the glory of God.
