Dreamland Football Academy Targets Grassroots Development

In a bid to promote football at the grassroots level the Dreamland Football Academy is to recruit young footballers within the age bracket of 11 and 21 years.

Speaking to Tidesports in an interview, the director of the academy, Mr Ndudi Edede said that the academy was spreading its net wide in Rivers State for recruitment this year.

Edede who made this known in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt recently said that those to be recruited would be exposed to basic football and education drills.

According to the director, the academy is targets young and talented footballers who wish to take professional football as career, saying that such youths are expected to meet and formalize entry requirements.

He continued that the academy which is government approved has full accommodation and education facilities for football players within 11-21 years.

Edede explained that the academy has so far played a total of 30 friendly matches lost 4, drew 6 and won 20.

Some of the teams the academy has locked horns with include Rangers FC of Enugu, Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt, Enyimba FC of Aba (feeder team), and Kilsi United FC of Gokana.

Also, the academy has produced some players who have gotten professional contracts abroad.
