Buhari, Atiku Set To Form Platform For 2011
All is now set for the launching of the National Democratic Movement, a political platform organised by the former Head of State and presidential candidate of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in 2003 and 2007 presidential election, General Mohammadu Buhari and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Action Congress (AC) Chieftain.
The Tide on Sunday gathered that the launching of the National Democratic Movement, a by-product of the National Democratic Initiative (NDI) will take place today October 28, 2009 in Abuja according to the spokesperson of NDI and the Director General of The Buhari Organisation (TBO), Dr Sule. The Tide on Sunday explained that by the level of preparations towards the launching of the National Democratic Movement (NDM) invitations have been sent to all stakeholders, prominent Nigerians for the launching of the political platform by Wednesday.
“We have sent out 12 invitation notices each to the six geo-political zones of the country and other invitations sent out was based on individual capacity.” Sule Hamma said, explaining that the meeting would first go into a consultative summit and thereafter the National Democratic Initiative would transforms to the National Democratic Movement.
The Tide on Sunday further gathered that some of those invited on their personal capacity include the former governor of Lagos State and founder of the coalition for Democrats for Electoral Reform (CODER), Senator Bola Tinubu, former secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chief Olu Falae of the Mega summit, chief Orji Uzor Kalu, the chairman of the Peoples Progressive Alliance (PPA) Board of Trustee and chief Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, the Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) among others.
