Sylva Debunks Rift With VP Jonathan

The Bayelsa State Governor, Chief Timipre Sylva says detractors are trying to sow seed of discord between him and the Vice President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan.
Chief Sylva stated that the relationship between two of them is cordial contrary to media reports and what enemies of Bayelsa State would like the public to believe .
The governor stated this in a press release signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ola Dofie and made available to The Tide correspondent in Yenagoa.
He blamed the rumoured strained relationship between him and the vice president on fortune seekers, adding that since he was elected as governor he had been enjoying the goodwill of Dr Jonathan.
According to the statement, it was not true that he was responsible for various petitions against the person and office of the vice president who according to him is a distinguished Bayelsan who relationship with him.
“The office of the vice president is important, and Bayelsa State is happy that a Bayelsan is occupying the that position at present”, the statement added.
It would be recalled that of recent, anti-Jonathan write ups and adverts have been very conspicuous in some national newspapers creating the impression that the governor is at war with the vice president.
