Passengers On Int’l Chartered Flights Get Directive
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has directed passengers on International Chartered Flights to obtain clearance for departure and arrival at Nigerian’s airports.
The Director-General of NCAA, Dr Harold Demuren, who gave the directive in a statement recently also directed that the passengers should get clearance from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), the Immigration Service, and other security agencies at the point of entry or departure from the airport.
In the statement, Demuren said that henceforth, all airports for international operations should be parked at the international wing and no longer at the domestic wing.
According to him, “for the avoidance of doubt, all international departure and arrival should henceforth originate from the international wing of the airport”.
Sources to the authority in a telephone chart revealed to The Tide that most of the chartered flights are being used to traffic drugs and importation of undisclosed dangerous weapons.
