Group Condemns Murder Of Abducted Woman …Child Still Missing

The President-General of Nkwelle-Ezunaka Town Union in Nkwelle-Ezunaka Local Government Area, Anambra State, Elder Chris Eluemunoh has condemned the abduction and murder of Mrs Josephine Ogbuanu of Iwolo village, Ezeagu Local Government Area, Enugu State.

Speaking to The Tide, Elder Eluemunoh said Mrs Ogbuanu was allegedly kidnapped at Ezeagu town while attending a marriage ceremony.

According to him, the woman’s abductors took her to Omor, a town in Ayamelum Local Government Area, Anambra State and later to Nkwelle-Ezunaka where she was murdered by the hoodlums.

“They took the woman and her son into a forest in Nkwelle-Ezunaka where they were held  for three days before she was murdered and buried in the forest because she could not pay the N30 million ransom demanded by her abductors”, he narrated.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased had been exhumed on September 5, by a combined team of medical doctors and the police while the whereabouts of her son still remains a puzzle.

As at time of filing this report, a relative of the deceased, said that one of the kidnappers had been nabbed by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Awkwuzu, Anambra State, while a massive manhunt is on to apprehend his collaborators.
