Flying Eagles Go For Broke Against Spain

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria’s prospects at the ongoing 2009 FIFA World Youth Championship, (WYC) in Egypt will be defined today after their crucial match with their Spanish counterparts.

It is the second match of group B and one the Samson Siasia tutored side must win to be in good stead to progress in the competition.

After the surprising 0-1 loss to Venezuela in their first match, it is now a matter of win or bust for the Eagles, who arrived the championships with a lot of promises.

Siasia has promised to ring some changes to the squad to ensure that they deliver the goods today, and the players equally pledged to work extra hard and redeem themselves after the stumble against Venezuela.

However, the task looks difficult, considering that the young Rojas of Spain were so rampant in their 8-0 mauling of hapless Tahiti.

Spain may be brewing with confidence but the Flying Eagles must find a way to cage them and show that they are more hungry for the points at stake.

Anything short of victory and the Flying Eagles may be booking an early flight back home.
