Director Extols Late Kalaipa as Guru In Tennis

The Director of Sports, Rivers State, Hon Daobu Harvest-Harry recently described late tennis coach, Precious Tubonemi Kalaipa as a guru that the Rivers State sports council would always miss and remember.

Hon Harry, who made this assertion in a tribute during the lying in-state of the late coach, at the tennis section of Alfred Diette Spiff Sports Complex (Civic Centre), Port Harcourt, recently said the late coach deserved respect and remembrance.

He noted that late Kalaipa groomed national and international players like Sunday Maku among others.

According to him, Coach Kalaipa who was employed as an assistant tennis coach in 1991 was a hardworker whose integrity and excellent performance took him to the positions of Principal Coach Assistant and Head Coach of tennis, in the state.

The Sports Director prayed God to give the family and colleagues of the departed coach the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

In his address at a day vigil and funeral service held at St. Peters Anglican Church, Port Harcourt, Ven. W. T. Edighotu enjoined Christians to live their life in Christ in order to gain eternal life.

Highlight of the day was a mock tennis tournament by All Star Tennis Club, Port Harcourt.
