According to the chairman, an initial 300 repentant militants and cultists were admitted from inception of the programme but that one of them died of health complications while two women left on their own volition.
He explained that the committee had collaborated with banks and skill labour workshops to work out appropriate way of resettling the trainees in their different trades.
He said the passing out trainees were enrolled in the trade test examinations organised by the Department of Trade and Commerce of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity, adding that the whole candidates that sat for the examination made grade two results except six who made grade three.
Chief Horsfall re-emphasised the Committee’s commitment to rehabilitate all repentant cultists and militants in the state and ensure the exposure and exploitation of their god-given talents for the development of society.
He said the committee’s activities had no relationship with the on-going federal government’s amnesty programme, but added that repentant militants and cultists accommodated by his committee were also covered by the amnesty.
He commended the dedication shown by the trainees to the programme and urged those still in the act of cultism and militancy to repent and embrace the various programmes of government.
