Former Rivers State Commissioner for Sports Hon. Friday Nke-ee has expressed confidence in the 21-man Eagles squad recently released by coach Shuaibu Amodu for the 2010 World Cup qualifier match between Nigeria and Tunisia at Abuja.

Speaking with Tidesports in an exclusive interview Nke-ee described coach Amodu’s Eagles list as excellent saying that all the invited players are qualified and can perform.

“Sincerely, the players invited are good and well qualified, but it all depends on coach Amodu to bring out his wealth of experience in determining when a particular player should be introduced in the match”, Nke-ee said.

According to him, “there is no gain saying that the players look fit to do Nigeria proud if they could re-enact their superlative performance that saw them hold the Carthage Eagles to a goalless draw in Tunisia in their last match.

Nke-ee continued that the encounter between Super Eagles and visiting Carthage of Tunisia would be a tough cracker and may invariably go either way as both teams are not taking the match lightly.

“I would urge the Super Eagles players to be aggressive in their attack from the first blast of the referee’s whistle so as to weaken the Tunisian defence line”, he added.

He, however, enjoined Nigeria soccer fans to remain steadfast in praying for Eagles to excel.

It would be recalled that Eagles are having five points against seven points of the visiting Tunisian side.
