ESUT Backs Out Of ASUU Strike

The Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) have pulled out of the on-going national stricke by universities staff.

The University resumed academic activities on August 17, following the announcement of the resumption date on radio penultimate week.

The management had promised to pay the striking workers as soon as they reported to work.

The staff resumed work on the stated date. They all converged at the faculty of law auditorium  and decided to commence lectures for departments which were yet to round off while the rest waited for their monies to be paid before they commenced with first  semester examinations

At about 2.00 pm the same day, lecturers and non lecturers were called to report at the university auditorium and collect their cheques. Thay returned to duties immediately after meeting.

By the following day, academic activities commenced in full. The examinations time table is out while some departments have already started with theirs. Students have since returned to campus.
