An All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) chieftain in Zamfara State has raised an alarm over alleged threats by some PDP youth supporters to destroy his properties.

Our correspondent reports that Durumbu explained that a group of youths who claim to be supporters of PDP went to one of his apartments in the GRA area of Gusau tore off all ANPP posters on the wall of his house and replaced them with PDP posters.

The Tide gathered that when some ANPP supporters around the house asked them why they were tearing off the posters, they went and mobilised more youths and attempted to set the place ablaze.

He alleged that another group of PDP youth supporters in May this year had vandalised some vehicles parked in the premises of the residence of Alhaji Ibrahim Wakala, and ANPP chieftain and former Commissioner for Religious Affairs.

Durumbu called on the police to closely monitor the activities of the PDP youths so as to prevent the emergency of any political crisis in the state.

However, in a swift reaction, the Zamfara PDP youth leader, Alhaji Abdulhamid Mamanu, urged the ANPP leader to stop making wild allegations that were capable of overheating the polity.

Hear him: “The PDP youths in the state are law-abiding and have always conducted their affairs in the most decent manner, bearing in mind that they are members of the ruling party”.
