Synod Elects Executive, BOT

A new executive organ, as well as members of the board of Trustees (BOT) are expected to emerge at the end of the First Session of the First General Synod of the Christ Healing Church of Nigeria (CHCN) which comes up next week.

The Synod which will run from July 24-26 at the St Gabriel’s Christ Healing Church of Nigeria, Nwebi-Ohafia in the Umualila Diocese will have over 400 delegates drawn from five dioceses of the church in attendance.

A statement from the CHCN secretariat, signed by the synod secretary Rev. Canoa Dan Chineme and made available to our reporter, indicated that the theme of the synod ‘s “Dried Bones Shall Rise Again,” taken from the Bible book of Ezekiel 37:1-14.

According to the statement, the synod would be rounded up with a holy communion service which members of the council of Knights of the church are expected to worship in their regalia.

Meanwhile, members of the church aspiring to perform this years holy pilgrimage to Jerusalem have been charged to prepare themselves spiritually Bishop of CHCN, Port Harcourt /Ikot Abasi Diocese, Rt Rev (Dr) Benjamin Obomanu(JP) gave the charge Sunday at a meeting he held with members at the church of All Harcourt.

Obomanu said it was important for intending pilgrims to appreciate the need to be holy and ready for the challenges of visiting holy places that require spiritual preparation.

He advised them not to see the pilgrimage as a jamboree or look for any other benefit from it, outside the spiritual blessings.
