Orji Stresses Importance Of Health

The Governor of Abia State, Theodore Orji, has described health as the essential ingredient of his administration.

He was speaking in Umuahia while receiving a team of medical doctors, pharmacists and businessmen based in America and England.

The team is in the state to give free medical treatment to the residents.

Orji said the state is blessed with abundant manpower which the nation should harness for growth.

He, however, regretted that circumstances have made many to seek for greener pastures outside Nigeria.

His words: “It is a pity that our people who are supposed to help us move the state forward have all left for greener pastures overseas, thereby abandoning not only their places of birth but their people”.

The governor praised the team for the free medical services.

Earlier, the leader of the team, Dr Udochukwu Asonye, said they were in the state for a “week long free medical services to the people of the state, to enable them have a feel of what their children have learnt while studying overseas”.
