NYSC Member Rates Amaechi High

An out-going National Youth Service Corps member of Batch B 2008/2009 session, who served in Rivers State has rated the performance of Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi administration high as regards services to residents of the state.

Speaking with The Tide in Port Harcourt, the youth corp member, Mrs Sylvia Chidi C., who hailed from Imo State said that Governor Amaechi is really putting smiles on the faces of the masses, especially with the urban buses he has provided which are helping to solve transportation problems in the state.

She stated that the governor’s performance so far is more people-oriented compared to showing-of of these former governors.

While speaking on the welfare of the youth corps members serving in Rivers State, she said that those serving in schools were well taken care-of because their allowances were paid by the state government. She also said that they were being paid extra N10,000 monthly and so really enjoyed serving in Rivers State.

On if she would like to work in Rivers State, she said yes, in view of the development of the state so far by Governor Amaechi’s administration.

She used the opportunity to express sympathy for the family of two of their colleagues who died during the service.

She said that one of them Okpo Edna with NYSC registration number NYSC/AIV/08/1080566 who hailed from Enugu state-died after a brief illness, while the other, Obioma Vivian Chinwe, who died from motor accident, hailed from Imo State with NYSC registration number NYSC/AIV/2008/149439.
