It would be recalled that recently the father of the Moscow-based player, Odemwigie escaped death when gunmen suspected to be hired assassins fired bullets into his car in front of his house at Etet in Benin, Edo State.
Moreso, reports indicated that the gunmen were kidnappers and that Odemwigie had been abducted, though family sources dismissed the story and claiming that they were hired assassins.
Odemwigie however, called on the security authorities in the country to rise up to the new challenge, noting that the issue is gradually becoming a national embarrassment.
He also said that the menace could be wiped out completely or reduced to the bearest minimum if only the security agencies would give it priority attention in their scheme of things.
