Imo Boosts Orient TV

The Governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim has re-assured Imo citizens of the state government’s media plans as contained in his governmental agenda, the new face initiative.

“Orient Television Owerri shall be second to none in the entire South East and beyond”, he said during an unscheduled visit to the Imo State Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) Owerri, for an on-the-spot assessment of an on-going installation of communication gadgets at the radio and television stations.

Chief Ikedi Ohakim, who was accompanied by the state executive council members, toured the station to see the progress of the transmitter installation through the efforts of the Head, Interim Management Committee of the station, Mr. Richard Asiegbu.

The governor assured that finishing touches would be accorded the projects to keep the station ready for the visit of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua soon.

Chief Ohakim reiterated that the objective of his administration was to make Orient TV a dependable station, full of information for the masses.

He used the opportunity to know from the team of engineers of the station how they could manage the issue of thunder storm.

It would be recalled that the governor recently procured two sets of transmitters for the IBC radio and television stations in his new face project.

He also donated two Outside Broadcast (OB) vans to the IBC management for both Orient FM and Orient TV. Its aim is “to create a state-of-the-art broadcast stations with the capacity to cover events anywhere comfortably”, he declared.
