The Rivers State Chapter of Journalists for the Defence of Democracy (JDD) has made a passionate appeal to the Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi to reappoint the immediate past Commissioner for Special Duties, Chief (Engr) Davies Ibiamu Ikanya into the state executive council.

The group which said this in a statement made available to newsmen at the end of its meeting in Port Harcourt said that the record of Chief Ibiamu has remained untainted since his sojourn in politics.

The statement also described his performance as Special Duties Commissioner as one of the best, pointing out that the ministry witnessed an unprecedented achievement within the short period of his tenure.

Signed by the State Coordinator, Mr Iyobu Thomas Abbey, the group urged the governor to take into cognizance the role the former commissioner has played in the unity government and consider him for reappointment into the state executive council.
