Cup Win Relieves Pressure On Eguavoen
Enyimba coach Augus-tine Eguavoen has confessed that Sunday’s Federation Cup win relieved him of ‘intense’ pressure from fans of the People’s Elephants.
“The pressure here is intense, I don’t think you can get the same at any other club in Nigeria,” said Eguavoen, who also faced pressure as Super Eagles coach, although he declared that it was not the same as what he experienced with the national team.
“Of course the pressure at the national team was different. But I have been here less than one year and the expectation from the fans is huge so it was a relief for us to win the Cup for them.”
Eguavoen was also magnanimous in defeat, praising Sharks for a their performance in an entertaining final.
“Sharks are a good team and credit to them because they played well, but we are happy to have won.”
