Commissioner Tasks Police On Commitment To Duty
The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Delta State, Mr. Dafe Akpedeye (SAN) has urged the state police command to be more committed to enable it carry out their duties creditably.
Akpedeye said this while playing host to the new Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Yakubu Adamu Alkali in his office recently.
The commissioner gave the assurance that there would be better relationship between his ministry and the police, to ensure sanity and justice in the state and charged the new police commissioner to use his good office to reduce crime in the state.
He also advised the police to make available case files on time and ensure that their phone numbers were within reach to enable members of the public reach them easily.
Responding, the state police boss, Mr. Alkali, stressed the need for the ministry to sustain the cordial relationship existing between it and the police.
He said his visit was to acknowledge the various contributions made by the ministry and to seek for more cooperation to help reduce crime.
