In a bid to check flooding, the Delta State Government has approved N1 billion to construct drainage system in Asasba, the state capital.

This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon. Monu Chinwe Olarewaju during the birthday party celebration of the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Barrister Peter Nwaoboshi, recently.

Hon. Olarewaju said that with the approval, flooding in Asaba would be a thing of the past.

He also noted that the PDP Government in the state was committed to the development of the state capital as well as other parts of the state.

In his speech, Barrister Nwaoboshi commended the commissioner for hosting him, saying that Governor Emanuel Uduaghan has the interest of all at heart as he was determined to deliver democratic dividends to all Deltans.

The party chairman, however urged Deltans to support the PDP led-government in the state as more development programmes and projects were on the way to better their lives.
