The Idea Of Suspense In Movies
Not all films have suspense, but the idea of suspense is something to talk about. Alfred Hitchcock, who is seen to be the master of suspense in his various movies showcased suspense in a good light and made it meaningful.
Suspense makes a movie more interesting, who else noticed? The scenerio suspense creates in a film makes the viewer interested in every step, every action that goes on. If a close is taken it can be discovered that virtually all recent movies are adapting the suspense style. The film makers have realized that making the movies predictable is usually boring for people, so they sort for a better way.
In an interview with a UST student, Annabelle, she said that suspense is all she looks out for in a movie. If she’s able to predict the film, then she’s done watching it. Imagine how awkward a movie would be if there’s nothing to keep your interest.
Using the movie “Chief Daddy”2018 as a case study. It is clearly seen that the Chief and benefactor died unexpected, no one expected that. Then it happens that he has a large family, which was not stated at first. And now everyone is curious to know what is in his will. These few events probably kept someone’s attention till the end of the movie because the family members are hating on each other and we want to know who chief loves the most. Even if we cite an example with the 2018 “News Money”, the young girl who wanted to go into fashion didn’t know her father left her a multimillion dollar empire, to run. At the end, who will run the company since she wasn’t interested and her uncle and his son were on her neck. The zeal to know who finally sits on the CEO position, would keep you waiting for the second edition of the film.
Suspense creates an emotional involvement In a movie. The audience get involved and feel like they are talking with the characters in question. There is this curiosity to keep watching and anticipating. It is true that every good film in these recent time, has suspense no matter how little. These discoveries has made film makers fasten their seat belts to better screen writing and production.
