CNPP Laments Bauchi Assembly Leadership Crisis

The Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) in Bauchi has lamented the on-going leadership crisis rocking the State House of Assembly, saying that the development is capable of truncating the nation nascent democracy.
The State CNPP Chairman, Safiyanu Mai Salati who stated this yesterday while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the coalition meeting in Bauchi, urged the legislators to forge a united formidable force that could nip in the bud any conflict that has the tendency to create disunity among them.
Safiyanu called for quick resumption of legislative business, pointing out that the delay in resume sitting of the House is also another avenue that could further heat up the polity and generate further crisis among the lawmakers of the state.
“Members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly should close rank and put the interest of the state first above any other interest as a divided house cannot fend for itself, talk-less of achieving anything.
“We urge stakeholders in Bauchi state to mediate in the impasse rocking the House because the timely resumption to legislative businesses will ensure the unity of legislators and prevent any discordant tendency among them,” he said
The coalition stated that it is only a peaceful democratic system that guarantees the socio-economic and political transformation of the common man whose aspiration or definitive political goal is a decent living.
