Rivers United Targets More Goals

The Technical Manager of Rivers United Football Club of Port Harcourt, Stanley Eguma, has said that he is  working on his players towards scoring more goals in a match.
He explained that they always prepare adequately for  any football competition, because football  has no respect for big team.
Eguma stated this last Wednesday, shortly  after his team defeated Ambassadors Soccer Academy 3-0 at the on going Federation Cup (FC) in  Rivers State, at Sharks Football Club Stadium, in Port Harcourt.
“It was a good game. We played better and we won. It was what we planned for  because FC has no respect for senior teams, “Eguma said.
According to him, the three goals scored by his team  has opened the door to score more goals.
He noted that the  FC is away to encourage  the smaller teams and upcoming young players.
“We do not underrate any team, even though we are playing  in Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL),” he said.
The number one coach in the state further explained that one or two good  players would be picked from the competition.
In his reaction, the head coach of Ambassadors Soccer Academy, Tamunoemi West said that losing to a good team is a good experience for his team.
“You win or lose is part of the game”, West noted.
He stated that the experience he has gotten from the competition has given him more knowledge of the game.
