Wife of Cross River State Governor, Dr. (Mrs.) Linda Ayade, has charged every Cross River State woman to identify with Cross River Women Emancipation Initiative (CROWEI), an umbrella body to emancipate all Cross River State women economically, politically and socially.
Dr Ayade, the initiator of CROWEI, stated this during the gala night/maiden edition of “Face of CROWEI” contest for Lady CROWEI 2019, as part of activities marking the 2nd anniversary of CROWEI held at the Perigrino Hall, Government House, Calabar.
The Governor’s wife expressed appreciation to all the female Executive Council (EXCO) members’ present, all female appointees, PDP State women leaders wife of State PDP chairman, her mother, Mrs Mary Akpo, Ex-officials of CROWEI, Director-General Women Campaign for Ayade and Atiku, Ambassador (Mrs.) Nkoyo Toyo, and all State members of CROWEI for their love and support.
She further expressed thanks to the chairman and members of CROWEI Caretaker Committee for working tirelessly to ensure the success of the event.
According to her, the purpose of creating CROWEI is to emancipate women economically, politically, socially while also promoting their longevity.
She pointed out that identifying with the association would also help women to unite as one big family, loving and caring for one another as well as providing shoulders for others to lean upon, especially in times of need.
