Gov Promises New Houses, Vehicles For District Heads


Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State, has promised to construct new houses and provide vehicles for the state’s 200 district heads.
Bello made the promise on Monday in Suleja, when he took his campaign train to the palaces of the Emir of Suleja, Malam Awwal Ibrahim, and the District Head of Sabon-Wuse, Alhaji Adamu Tanko.
“We will construct new houses for district heads whose houses are in bad shape.We have started building houses for some district heads and will build more if given four more years,” he said.
He said that a memo for the purchase of vehicles for district heads had already been approved by the state executive council.
The governor promised to complete all ongoing projects if re-elected, and appealed to the people to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC), during the February 16 and March 2, general elections.
Earlier at his palace, Tanko had commended the governor for the rural electrification project in two communities in his district, and urged him to construct Sabon-Wuse-Garam road and the Sabon-Wuse-Ija road.
He also urged the governor to construct the road linking Suleja to new Bwari, to ease movement along that axis.
He appealed to the governor to repair broken boreholes and provide potable water in the area.
Ibrahim, the Emir, on his part, prayed for a peaceful and successful elections in the state, saying that the exercise would be tough “due to the large number of aspirants contesting various positions”.
