Atiku Hails Wike’s Courage, Governance Style


Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential hopeful, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has extolled the courage displayed by Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike in pushing good governance at the state and federal levels.
Alhaji Abubakar gave the commendation last Monday during the Presidential rally of the PDP at Amiesimaka Stadium, Omagwa, Rivers State.
The former vice president said,” I pay tribute to Governor Wike for his patriotism,Wike and I have one thing in common. We no dey fear”.
He further commended Chief Wike for the hardwork and infrastructural development in Rivers State “Wike has touched all sectors and he deserve a second term, “Abaubakar stressed.
On his plans if elected President, Abubakar said he would push for restructuring in all spheres of governance.
The former Vice President specifically promised that he would ensure the completion of the East-West Road and revive the moribund Onne Port, as part of his quest to provide jobs for youths and give a sense of belonging to the people of the Niger Delta.
Earlier, former President Goodluck Jonathan described Abubakar as a reliable and tested leader regretting that the good works laid by previous PDP administration have been eroded by President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the past three years.
Jonathan maintained that the only way to reverse the current challenge faced by the country is to vote for the PDP and Abubakar as President.
In his remarks, National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus lambasted the APC-led federal government for poor governance in the past four years.
Secondus said, Buhari has no other choice than to leave the Villa on May 2019.
The PDP national chairman submitted that Buhari President has to be voted out of power because he has lost touch with the people “he is not aware of anything happening in the country”.
Speaking earlier, Chief Wike urged Rivers people to vote for Alhaji Abubakar in order to enjoy good governance, stressing that the APC government has failed in all facets of governance.
The PDP presidential train had earlier visited the state Traditional Rulers Council secretariat, where both Wike and Abubakar addressed the royal fathers.
