Bayelsa SWAN Set For Election

Election into six different offices of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Bayelsa State chapter has been fixed for the first week of November this year.
The positions to be contested for are those of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Financial Secretary, Assistant Secretary and Treasurer.
In a statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Election Planning Committee, Comrade Kola Oredipe and Prieye Yabrifa, said the details of the election would be made known soon.
The statement enjoins all practising sports writers to ensure they are formally registered and financial ahead of the election.
It urges SWAN members who are yet to register to do so immediately through the Eleco members with the payment of three thousand naira.
All those wishing to register should meet with the incumbent SWAN secretary, George Ameli or Eleco Secretary, Prieye Yabrifa.
The Eleco has assured all sports writers in Bayelsa state of free and credible election.
The congress of SWAN in the state presided over by its chairman, Loveday Herbert, had set up a 3-man Electoral body headed by Comrade Kola Oredipe of Radio Nigeria while Mr.Prieye Yabrifa of Glory FM serve as Secretary.
