The immediate past
Speaker of the  Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Ikuinyi Owaji  Ibani, has assured the people of Andoni of the commitment of the present administration to develop the local government area.
Rt Hon Ibani who stated this during a solidarity visit on him by a non-governmental organisation, the Obolo Initiative for Change, also predicted peaceful re-run elections in Andoni Local Government Area.
He said that his six months tenure as Speaker of the State House of Assembly brought Andoni to the corridors of government in the state and charged the people not to allow the opportunity to slip by.
The former Speaker said the only way to grab the opportunity again is for the Andoni to vote massively for candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the re-run National and State Assembly polls.
Ibani assured that his re-election would bring in many dividends of democracy including loan scheme for all market women in Andoni and urged the group to prevail on some aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to set aside their differences and joined in moving the party forward.
He commended the group for its commitment to the success of the PDP in Andoni and Rivers State and stressed the need for its sustenance.
Earlier, the leader of the group, Mrs Margaret Ogolo told Ibani that the group’s visit  to him was an endorsement of the former Speaker for the forthcoming re-run election in the state.
Mrs Ogolo said that the Obolo Initiative was formed for the advancement of the PDP interest and assured the former lawmaker of the group’s full support.
