The Secretary to Rivers State Government, Chief Kenneth Kobani has declared that the superlative performance of the Governor Nyesom Wike’s administration on infrastructural development has revived the hitherto moribund economy of the state.
Addressing journalists in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Kobani said that the strategic execution of projects in different parts of the state has empowered the less-privileged and given the people a new lease of life.
Kobani said that Wike, in the past seven months, has executed projects and programmes contained in his development blueprint, the New Rivers Vision, with the people of the state being the prime beneficiaries.
He particularly commended the governor’s commitment to the development of the state despite the economic downturn in the country.
According to the secretary to the Rivers State Government, Wike, has completed more than 80  kilometres of roads in four local government areas of the state and has started the implementation of the roads connecting other local government areas.
He said: “We have a governor who is the best in this dispensation. He is the only governor currently executing high class capital projects in the country. This is because Governor Wike is committed to the implementation of the New Rivers Vision Development Blueprint, and he has been able to prudently manage the scarce resources that have accrued to the state.
“The flag off of the Igwuruta-Chokocho-Etche road is the beginning of Governor Wike’s reach out to all the other local government areas of the state. The Saakpenwa-Bori road is also scheduled to commence while the governor has introduced a boarding school system to improve learning in our secondary schools”, he said.
He said that Wike has transformed Rivers State into a centre of positive development despite inheriting a debt- ridden state.
Kobani said: “Governor Wike’s popularity is at an all-time high because he has worked for the people. He has shown that the people made the right choice by voting for him on April 11, 2015. He has proved to be a worthy governor who has given leadership a new meaning, impacting the lives of the people positively “.
