PH Ready To Bubble With Easter Celebration
Fun seekers and showbiz personalities in Port Harcourt and its environs are now set to bubble again with Easter celebrations as various events have been put in place by operators of entertainment hang outs and shobiz personalities to thrill fun seekers and give them maximum entertainment and relaxation.
Among some of the events include Oba Omega’s celebration of 17 years as an artiste. Born Emmanuel Amakiri, the multiple award winner and Grand Ambassador who owns the Boomerang nite club Rumuogba, (Old Aba Road), said the celebration starts today with a concert at the Big Brother nite club, Aba Road.
Similar events will be held at boomerange Nite club from Saturday through Easter Monday. Oba Omega promised to give his numerous fans and admirers the best in entertainment throughout the celebrations as various artistes and comedian will perform. They include Damfo Driver from Lagos, fortune, Baba Funky makosa and krikata dancers as well as other side attractions.
Another event that is expected to rock the city today is the Dar communication Plc and Kennis Music Easter celebration. This is the first time kennis music is coming to Port Harcourt, since its 17 years of existence.
The big boss of the music Lable baba K.K. Ogunde that trained the likes of 2 face Idibia Tony Tefula Eedris Abdulkarin etc is already in the city accorting to our source.
Artistes lined up for the event include M.I. Maxy, Dandy boy, Comedians like Anrize Baba, Rugged Pastor as well as Tay Poower FM DJs such as Olanikun Da Square, among others are expected to be there to perform.
Afrik Executive Nite club, Rumuekino, and Afrik new world Nite club Aba Road have put finishing touches on their plans to thrill their numerous customers with fund, laughter and relaxation.
According to the group club Manager of the hospitality outfit, Prince Victor Ifeanyi Mini, who disclosed this to The Tide Entertainment, this years celebration at the clubs is special as the management has put in new facilities for the comfortof their quests. He said there would be Makossa, and strip dancers, comedians on parade as well as Band stand, DJs and other attractions.
Other Entertaianment outlets such as (assablanca, Everich, Mr. D Hotel Presidential bush bar etc are also prepared to thrill their quests as there would be a lot of dancing, wineing and dineing, the eateries like Repperoni, Sammies, Kilimanjaro Tantalizer Drinking and pepper soupd joints and fast food sellers are not left out of the easter Jamboree as they are also willing to give their quests tantalizing delicacies and services.
Genesis and Silverbird Cinemas hart also assembled best movies to put the viewers in their right mood including Knocking on Heavens Door which is showing at Silver bird cinemas.
However, some of the residents said they will like to travel out to their communities while others want to visit tourist centes for sight seeing. One of these people is Mr. Ezekiel Ibekwe Personal Assistance (PA) to the Special Adviser (SA) to the Bayelsa State Governor on Agricultural development who stated that he would travel out of the state to Calabar with his wife many and daughter Vine to Tinapa and Obudu cattle ranch for sight seeing as well as other tourists sights of interest.

Stephanie Linus, First Black Recipient Of Lennox K. Black Prize
The Lennox K. Black International Prize for Excellence in Medicine is a prestigious accolade awarded by Thomas Jefferson University, recognising outstanding individuals.
The actress was honoured with the Lennox K. Black International Prize for Excellence in Medicine by Thomas Jefferson University in America in recognition of her outstanding contributions to social activism and impact through her work.
This remarkable achievement, they said, highlights her dedication to societal well-being and marks her as the first Black recipient of this distinguished award.
The Tide Entertainment reports that the Lennox K. Black International Prize for Excellence in Medicine is a prestigious accolade awarded by Thomas Jefferson University, recognising individuals who have made significant contributions to the medical field, promoting scientific discovery and advancements.
Named after Lennox K. Black, a Canadian manufacturing executive known for his philanthropic efforts and service on various boards, including Thomas Jefferson University, the prize celebrates excellence in medical innovation and global contribution to health and medicine.
The actress is renowned for her activism and impactful work in areas concerning women’s health and rights, including her efforts to combat issues like fistula and gender-based violence.
According to the award organisers she has been instrumental in bringing about social change through her films and campaigns. They added that her work extends beyond borders, affecting lives and policies internationally, embodying the spirit of the Lennox K. Black International Prize.
On receiving the award, Stephanie expressed her gratitude and reaffirmed her commitment to using her platform for social good.
“This recognition goes beyond me; it is for all the women and girls fighting for a healthier, safer world. It amplifies our message and our work. It strengthens my resolve to continue advocating for gender equality, social justice, and improved maternal and reproductive health in Africa,” she said

Ms Aldunge further said that Thomas Jefferson University, a leader in medical education and research, hosts the award to underscore its mission of improving lives through innovation in health care.

Stephanie, who was named Chairperson of the Nigerian Official Selection Committee (NOSC) for the Best International Feature Film (IFF) category of the Oscars in August 2023, is best known for her 2015 advocacy movie ‘Dry’, which tells the story of a 13-year-old girl whose parents marry her off to a 60-year-old man, with devastating consequences.
