Chime Assures Investors Of Land Allocation
Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State says the state
government is willing to allocate land to genuine investors who wish to invest
in the state.
This was contained in a message the governor sent to the
ground breaking of the South-East Zonal office of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in Enugu.
Chime, who was represented by the State Head of Service, Mr
Dennis Eze, commended ICAN for establishing its zonal office in the state.
He gave an assurance that the office would boost the
development of the state.
The President of ICAN, Mr Adedoyin Owolabi, said that the
office would reduce the challenges which the institute faced in the zone.
Owolabirecalled thatthe idea for the office came up when the
institute discovered that the challenges facing its members who were outside
the head office could not be met.
He urged spirited members of the institute to contribute to
the construction of the office, adding that it would furnish and staff the
office.
Thanking the state government for providing the land,
Owolabi urged the chairman of the Enugu zonal office to ensure the speedy
completion of the building.
The Enugu State ICAN Chairman, Mr Martin Onyenmuru, said
that the state was the first to have a zonal office.
He said that Enugu was selected because of its strategic
importance politically, and lauded the state government for its contribution to
the institute.
Onyenmurugave an assurance that the institute would continue
to support the state government, and pleaded for its support to ensure the
early completion of the office.
He said that the cost of the project would be shared among
the five states in the Eastern zone.
