87 Ships Expected At Lagos Ports – NPA
Eighty seven ships carrying various goods are expected in Lagos ports between July 31 and August 28.
This was contained in the shipping position document, which the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Lagos.
The document showed that the goods included rice, bulk salt, bulk fertiliser, bulk sugar, bulk wheat, old and new vehicles, petroleum products and fish.
It also showed that 30 of the ships would sail in with containers, and 24 with new and used vehicles.
Our correspondent reports that 23 ships laden with bulk cargoes have also arrived at the ports and are awaiting clearance to berth.
According to the document, the ships contain bagged rice, fertiliser, steel products, fish and bulk sugar.
It added that 17 other ships laden with various petroleum products were also awaiting clearance to berth at the oil terminals in Lagos.
Their contents include petrol, aviation fuel and diesel.
