The Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori, says it has the required skills and manpower to provide all kinds of consultancy services to government agencies and other corporate organizations.
The Rector, Prof. Toku-Ibiye G. Sokari, disclosed this when a team from the Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority visited the institution to inspect facilities.
Prof. Sokari, said that the Survey Department was one of the facilities visited in a bid to engage the school in survey work by the Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority.
The Polytechnic don, reasoned that industries and other relevant organisations ought to make use of consultancy services provided in tertiary institutions in order to promote proficiency and quality job delivery.
According to him, the polytechnic would provide the expected services if given the opportunity by the Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority.
The Procurement Manager of Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority, Mr Douglas Dimkpa, hinted that they were satisfied with the facilities and personnel available in the surveying department of the institution.
Mr. Dimkpa, hoped that the visit would strengthen mutual understanding between the Bori Poly and that of his organisation.
