Zenith Bank Plc, has reiterated its Commitment to partner with the Rivers State Government in building developmental projects that would boost the socio-economic sector in the state.
The Deputy Managing Director, Zenith Bank PLC, Mr Godwin Emefiele stated this Wednesday, at the official commissioning of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre in Port Harcourt.
Delivering his welcome address, Emefiele averred that the donation of the ICT centre by the Bank to the Rivers State government was part of the bank’s cardinal policies to show gratitude to the Rivers Community which he said had provided an enabling environment for the pursuit of enterprises particularly banking services.
He maintained that Zenith Bank considered the ICT centre to be modest contribution to the state in line with governor Amaechi’s vision and another evidence of its commitment to the corporate social responsibilities as a good corporate citizen.
Emefiele revealed that the project gathered momentum on His Excellency’s anchored vision of development of the state on active corporate involvement by the direct social responsibility programmes or the public private partnership schemes.
In his words, “our building of this ICT centre is aimed at giving a pride of place to ICT as one of the critical and central pillars in government development aspirations. We are certain, based on the state government’s positive tract record, that this centre will be deployed for the good of the Rivers State.
While noting that the bank was a witness to the successful projects and programmes embarked upon by the state governor, Emefiele pledged the bank’s unalloyed support and loyally to the state government and the good people of the state.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State governor,Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi had promised to donate plots of land along Omagwa and Isiokpo area of the state to the bank to build a modern Primary and Secondary Schools as promised by the bank.
Governor Amaechi further called on other private institutions in the state to emulate Zenith Bank Plc in partnering with the state government in the overall development of the state.
