Thirty-six states governors across the country are meeting in Yenagoa to take position on the deregulation of oil and gas sectors as being proposed by the Federal government.
President Umaru Yar’adua recently described the moves as inevitable, the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC) has however threatened to resist the moves by mobilising all its members across the country.
The Joint labour movement recently embarked on a peaceful rally in Abuja to intimate the Federal Government about its position on the matter. Our correspondent reliably gathered that the issue tops the agenda of the matter to be discussed at the Governors Forum meeting, holding in Yenagoa.
Also to be discussed is the security situation in the Niger Delta region, most especially during the post amnesty era.
